PRIORITIES
Vanessa’s vision for Clayton County is rooted in reconnection, opportunity, and progress. She is dedicated to restoring trust between residents and local leadership while driving economic growth that uplifts every neighborhood and community.
Her priorities include expanding workforce development and training programs that prepare residents for stable and quality jobs, strengthening support for small businesses, and ensuring access to safe, affordable, and inclusive housing. This includes increasing senior housing and veteran housing options so that those who built and served the community can continue to call it home with dignity and security.
Vanessa also envisions a county where families have access to comprehensive wraparound services that address healthcare, mental wellness, transportation, and childcare to ensure that every resident has the tools to succeed.
She believes that when the community is united, supported, and equipped with opportunity, Clayton County can truly thrive.

DEVELOPMENT
Clayton County has the potential to thrive through smart growth and local investment. I will champion small businesses, attract new industries, and revitalize underused areas to create more jobs and economic opportunities for families across District 1.

AFFORDABLE
HOUSING
Home prices in Clayton County continue to rise, with the median listing price around $257,450, and nearly half of residents renting. I will work to expand down payment assistance programs, support mixed-income developments, and partner with housing authorities so families can stay in their communities.

DEVELOPMENT
Our future depends on equipping residents with skills for today’s jobs. With a median household income in Clayton around $58,000 and a population that continues growing (14 % growth since 2010) , I will expand vocational training, apprenticeships, and partnerships with local industries.
Her previous service includes the Clayton County Community Service Board, Clayton County School Board Advisory District 8, and serving as Chief of Staff for former State Representative Michael Glanton. She also supported fundraising for State Representative William Bodie’s campaign for Labor Commissioner and worked in community outreach for former Atlanta City Council President Felicia A. Moore.
MEET VANESSA BATTLE
Vanessa Battle has dedicated her life to serving others with faith, honesty, and compassion. Inspired by her mother’s work alongside President Jimmy Carter, Vanessa learned early the power of unity and public service.
Her campaign is built on the Three Gs — Galvanize, Genuine, and God — bringing people together, leading with integrity, and keeping faith at the center of every decision. With a strong background in political science, legal studies, and counseling, Vanessa brings both knowledge and heart to her leadership.
She is committed to listening, taking action, and creating opportunities that strengthen families and communities across District 1.
Leadership and Service
As a mother of a son, Vanessa serves on the Board for Mothers Raising Sons and the Board of Directors for Prayzefest Gospel Network Inc. She is the Chaplain for New Order National Human Rights and a proud member of Wisdom Women.
As the Founder and CEO of Sistar2Sistar Round Table Ministry, and Founder of both Beautiful Butterfly Inc. and Creative Minds Partners LLC, Vanessa continues to empower women, families, and young people throughout the community.
She is also an active member of several civic and professional organizations including Pray Georgia, the Association of Christian Ministers of Clayton County, and the Georgia Association of Paralegals. Vanessa is currently advancing her education with graduate studies focused on teaching and special education.
